THE GUTTER POLITICS OF MALAYSIAN POLITICIANS

In the advancement of the rapid usage of the global media and MSM today, most politicians do not have much time to write books or journals to depict and highlight their issues in the main stream and social media. This is also known as paid or hired ghost writers and there is nothing wrong in doing so if their intentions is sincere in promoting their cause and public services to the people, who have elected them to office, State Assembly or Parliament. Almost all our prominent politicians, including former PMs, Ministers, Federal, State and Divisional leaders from both sides of the political divide have been doing this kind of public awareness through their books and journals. Today most of them have their blogspot column, facebook and twitter accounts, including our country's number one leader PM Najib Tun Razak and of course the controversial elite blogger former PM Tun Mahathir or Chedet column. There are many other prominent past and present political leaders from both sides of the political divide, for which I shall reserve mentioning of their names in this article.

Interesting though, I have been a guest writer and also a columnist myself from the early 1990, when I had my first desk computer, while doing national service overseas in Europe and Asia. I have had no opportunity to serve in the Arab-African countries while in my diplomatic career in the Foreign Ministry. Back in my younger days as a junior diplomat (since 1971), there were lots of issues that I could have observed in the foreign and Malaysian scenes, here and overseas.

I also had the privilege to have served our former PMs Tun Hussein, Tun Mahathir, Tun Abdullah Badawi and currently DS Najib Razak when he was the DPM (1971 until my retirement in late 1998). Even after my mandated retirement in 1998, I was fortunately to be given the opportunity to work in one of the prominent GLC, Multimedia Super Corridor (now known as Mdec). In the MSC, I had constant dealings with the former PM Tun Mahathir, who was incharge of MSC and Chairman of the MSC International Advisory Panel of Advisers. I had also dealt with some other senior and key Ministers related to the development of MSC from January 2000 until I resigned and left for New Zealand in mid 2002.

Today, after more than 15 years of my retirement from 1998, I am still actively blogging my thoughts in relating my own personal views and experiences in commenting on the current political, economic and social issues in Malaysia, even though I seldom made waves when provoking my thoughts, pro and anti establishment. I had also frequently made pro and con references to some of our notable leaders from both sides of the political divide, including Tun Mahathir, Tun Abdullah Badawi, Ku-Li, Tun Daim, the infamous Anwar Ibrahim, Khairy Jamaluddin and of course my favorite PM/Minister DS Najib Razak.

One of my favorite and controversial issue is ISA for absolute National Security (posted in September 2008). Fast forward I have written quite a lot on the gutters and antics of our political leaders and ground politicians, published in my own given name and blogsphere: MasAgungKL's Scribe and Janda Manis, but never anything under Anonymous coverage. I have also frequently posted my comments and other articles of international and national interest published in Malaysiankini, Malaysia Insider, Malaysia Today (RPK) and some other blogs including Rocky's Bru, the Mole and Datuk Kadir Jasin Scribe.

In reference to the current issues and political situation in Malaysia and the region, I shall confine my thoughts and writings to Tun Mahathir (currently embroiled with PakLah over his book, AWAKENING - TUN ABDULLAH BADAWI IN HIS YEARS OF OFFICE). The Anwar Ibrahim saga which I had be internationally implicated, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (Our  Kelantan Royal Prince and a distant relative) and not forgetting the current PM Najib Tun Razak, who is now incharge and in the forefront of international, regional and national political forefront before and the aftermath of the recent 13th general election in Malaysia democratic process of governance.

The rest is history and to be reserved for some other day, including the sensational story behind the scene of the Kingmaker in highlighting PakLah's controversial book through the courtesy of Professor James Chin and political analysts Bridge Welsh. The former controversial academician is based in Australia and the later based in Singapore. For those FB friends and other who are interested in my story, just lock my name "Mustapha Ong" in the world of Google World and share my thoughts with me, both pro and con, but with absolute and acceptable journalistic etiquette, and responsibility. I dislike comments behind the "anonymous postings" but accept and tolerate constructive criticisms, which should be respectful and following the norms of good journalism in the MSM or social media, blogs, facebook and twitter accounts.
